I found this by far the most usefull program for my
416 - 436 Science class in grade 10. I'm sure you'll
also find it very usefull for Chemistry and perhaps
Physics also.

MOLEWGT2.82p calculates will calculate the molar weight
of a substance automatically, and shows you all the
work! No more staring at the periodic table for houres
trying to find the atomic mass of Pb, when you TI-83
will do it for you! The program knows the mass of all
the first 45 elements, and some of the other common
ones. If the program does not know the mass of an
element, it will simply ask you.

For example: Lets say we need to know how many moles
are in 18 grams of Sodium Bicarbonate (baking soda).
The formula is CH3 OH. So run the program, and

select CALC. WEIGHT

, because you need to calculate it. (If you
already did the question but need to go back to check
something else, or need to balace some numbers, simply
select weight known) Now

enter C,1,H,3,O,1,H,1 .

Always enter the number of atoms in a molecule for each
atom. H,3,H,1 is the same as H,4. Remember that radicals
like (OH)3 must be put in as O,3,H,3. after you have
entered the values, the program will add up all the
number, showing you the mass for each atom! Now

select MASS
enter 18

Now you will see a complete list of the other details being:
1. The molar mass (constant of the substance)
2. Moles of baking soda in 18 grams
3. Mass of baking sado
4. Number of molecules in 18g of baking soda
5. Number of atoms in baking soda (molecules * # of atoms in 1 molecule)

Now press enter no return to the calculations screen.
To enter another value, you can enter it now. To
calculate another substance, press 5. To quit, press 7.

Please tell me if this program is usefull, and email me
suggestions as to how I can improve it.
